About The Village Arcade

The Village Arcade is located in the heart of the Rice Village Shopping District.  

The Rice Village Shopping District encompasses a twelve block shopping area whose history dates back to the late 1930's.  Recognized as Houston's original shopping district, this area has remained an eclectic assortment of restaurants, galleries, well known retail stores, one-of-a-kind boutiques and professional and business services.  

Weingarten Realty built what is today The Village Arcade in 1991.  The land that the shopping center sits on belongs to Rice University.  

Because of its popularity and great location, the shopping center is occupied both by some of the nation’s best retailers and by stores, restaurants and services unique to Houston.
